CENTER FOR BIOREGIONAL LIVING - ELLENVILLE NY
Many diverse and meaningful experiences, consultations and installations this year to share here exclusively with you all our community of participants in the work we do here with the Center For Bioregional Living, that you all are connected with us in some way through that work and we want to thank you!
Any ideas for offerings we can provide as far as; courses or consultations, land tenure and stewardship of Permaculture properties and projects, to communities who would benefit from those conversations with us, please let us know.
We began this season with Adam Lavendar coming on as my Permaculture Apprentice with me on consultation and teaching gigs, keep your ears out for a few podcasts I pre-produced with Adam, soon to be released, about his rich Permaculture related background, what brought him to work with us and what he learned from the experience.
The first project we busted out is this outdoor classroom and an adjacent space for a Cob Oven for breads and pizza. All made from local lumber and the whole courtyard space with the structure included was designed by the students and staff as interdisciplinary project, with my guidance.
Then we ran a USDA grant funded Agroforestry Training for Permaculture Land Trust we shortened our name:) All of our students had to apply and we interviewed them to select students who would make the best use of the program we are wrapping up our last field trainings this fall.
We hosted 3 on in the Raleigh-Durham area of N.C., the two seen here, Zach Elfers teaching at one in Jobstown, N.J. with amazing needed to be protected and will be hybrid hickories, pecans, persimmon, pawpaw and more.

Then to the Hudson Valley where Center For Bioregional Living is located, we went to some old friends for some top tier education for our participants.
Erik Schellenberg with Black Creek Nursery Wrapping here with Costa Boutsikari's graduate, Permaculture film maker, local collaborator

Sharing a nice combo of earthworks and hazelnut plantings to manage waterflow in large old hay meadow with a lot of drop over run in it's spread.
At our Center For Bioregional Living in Ellenville we first had a great group for our Permaculture hands on training in off grid water systems and installing a larger 1500 gallon tank here off the carport we built with w/ nice grid tied solar array on it, stacking some serious funk!

We hosted a Biodynamic and Permaculture in the garden class.

Our Natural Building Class
Jeff Gagnon a graduate, dear friend and visionary Natural Builder in the area, focused on finishing window and door openings, building entry steps and setting doors, day 2 was earthen plaster and clay slip.
Some of my favorite work! Revitalizing and uncovering Historic Springs.
