Center for Bioregional Living Fall 2026 Newsletter - Andrew Faust
We have had a bustling summer here at Center For Bioregional Living. We started with our visitor, a young man, Mohamed Salem Mohamed Ali, of The Nomad Garden, who picked us as his top site to visit while in the U.S. Mohamed is a self-described farmer and artist from the Sahrawi refugee camp, Algeria he joined us in the United States for a few weeks to meet with like minded individuals and organizations as he expands his knowledge and networks in the perma-culture and farming space. I will be publishing a podcast interview with Mohamed.
Mohamed was the recipient of The World Around Young Climate Prize Visionary award (2025) and recently spoke at MoMA as part of our Summit 2026.
June and I traveled to the southwestern desert, to visit friends, Pictographs, cliff dwellings, sacred sites and Intaglio.
I spoke at Experience Regeneration at Omega and at the Northern Nut Growers Conference at University of Massachusetts.
We have had returning apprentice Adam Lavender, interviews to come, and our new apprentice Lenny from the Bronx who I just finished roofing our summer kitchen housing our cob oven and maple sugaring operation.
Come visit this fall it is going to be a bountiful apple and chestnut harvest here in October!

Permaculture Design Certification at Welkinweir
Sept. 20 - Oct 2. – Class begins Monday September 21st at 10am - 4pm
You will be creating a map of the entire property and a Permaculture Master Plan, a future site vision for Welkinweir. Learning by doing in the class and graduating by creating an individual design for a site, project or concept of your choice. You will receive expert guidance in the class in creating designs and ongoing mentor support, after you receive your certification from us, in pursuing a career in anything related to Permaculture, Regenerative or Sustainable consultation and design.
